Established in 2013, Dathanna Architecture provides a tailored range of architectural services specifically to meet your particular requirements.

 

With over eleven years of combined experience on projects ranging from conservation of major public buildings, design of large scale commercial developments to the design of contemporary domestic dwellings, Deirdre and Alan have a range of combined expertise to bring to your particular project.

Alan Connolly

Alan graduated with a Higher Diploma in Interior Architecture and Design from Sligo Institute of Technology in 2002.  Following on from this, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Architecture) from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2007 and subsequently with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Limerick in 2010.  In addition to this, he completed further studies, graduating with a Professional Diploma in Architecture from University College Dublin, in 2012.

 

Alan is a registered architect and member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI). He has also successfully completed the RIAI Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) course.

 

Alan established Dathanna Architecture with Deirdre Keeley in 2013.  He also works with PAC Studio on a wide range of projects on an ongoing basis.

 

Previous to this, Alan worked with Joseph Doyle Architects, where he spent over 11 years working on an broad range of projects including multi unit residential, mixed use, retail, bespoke one off residential, master planning, conservation, commercial and pharmaceutical projects for a wide range of clientele from large scale multi national to owner occupiers. 

 

Alan recently collaborated on a study for the School of Architecture, University of Limerick, taking part in a quality review as a member of the peer review group (PRG). He also has a particular interest in Building Information and Energy Modelling and is currently undertaking further education in order to achieve environmental accreditation from the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.

Deirdre graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from University College Dublin in 2007.  Following on from this, she completed further studies, graduating with a Professional Diploma in Architecture, University College Dublin, in 2012, and also with a distinction in the Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Building Repair and Conservation from Trinity College Dublin, 2012. Deirdre is a registered architect and member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland (RIAI), and is also an architect accredited in Conservation at Grade III with the RIAI.

 

Deirdre established Dathanna Architecture with Alan Connolly in 2013.  

 

Previous to this, Deirdre worked with the Office of Public Works (OPW).  Here, she spent 2 ½ years working with the OPW Conservation Unit on projects which included conservation & renovation works in buildings of national and state importance, such as Leinster House and Dublin Castle, Green Street Courthouse and Abbotstown House. 

 

She also spent 1 ½ years as resident architect in Dublin Castle, co-ordinating various building conservation and renovation projects in preparation for, and during Irelands Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

 

Deirdre has also worked on a variety of projects in private practice with Mesh Architects (2013-2016), Paul Arnold Architects (2007 – 2009), Scott Tallon Walker Architects (2006) and Fitz.Gerald and Associates Architects (2004 – 2005).
