PROJECT DETAILS
Drumcondra – I is a residential property located on St Patrick’s Terrace, in the north inner city. The terrace is characterised by two-storey red brick dwellings and the street itself has a mix of uses and architectural styles. It is dominated by the presence of the Croke Park stadium to the north.
The existing house was in need of extensive renovation works, and was a two bedroom dwelling, with kitchen and bathroom located in a lean-to single storey return at ground level.
To convert the property to a three bedroom dwelling, the single storey extension has been demolished, and in its place a part single, part two storey extension is now proposed.
The internal arrangement has also been modified to allow for a three bedroom layout at first floor level, with bathroom and one no. en-suite bedroom. At ground level, a new downstairs WC and utility have been incorporated. A new open plan kitchen / dining area now opens directly onto the rear garden, maximizing the internal / external relationship and rationalising the overall plan throughout.
